SOLAR ENERGY SYSTEM

Solar energy systems include technologies that convert sunlight into electrical energy or heat energy and occupy an important place among sustainable energy sources. These systems can be analyzed in two main categories, particularly photovoltaic panels and solar thermal systems. Photovoltaic (PV) systems convert the sun's rays directly into electrical energy through solar panels, while solar thermal systems use solar energy as heat, which can be stored to meet the hot water needs of households or used for heating.

The working principle of PV systems is based on the fact that solar cells made of semiconductor materials receive sunlight and mobilize electrons, which in turn generate electric current. This electricity can be used in homes and workplaces, or it can be included in electricity grids produced in large-scale solar power plants. The spread of solar energy systems is seen as a solution to the environmental problems caused by fossil fuels and is therefore supported by many countries.

One of the biggest advantages of solar energy systems is that they are a renewable and clean energy source. Solar energy does not produce carbon emissions, does not cause noise pollution and does not leave harmful wastes in the environment. In addition, the installation costs of solar energy systems have decreased in recent years and maintenance costs are lower than many other energy production methods. These systems work very efficiently, especially in regions with intense solar radiation, and have the potential to provide energy independence.

However, solar energy systems also have challenges, such as fluctuations in energy production and the costs of storage technologies. Situations such as the sun going down or bad weather conditions can temporarily reduce energy production. However, with advancing technology, the efficiency of these systems is increasing and energy storage solutions are becoming more affordable. Solar energy will continue to play a key role in meeting global energy needs in a sustainable way.
