Solar Energy Systems Construction
Sustainable Energy, Waste-Free Solution
Solar energy can be described as radiant energy. This energy, which is released as a result of the transformation of hydrogen atoms in the sun into helium atoms, falls on the earth's surface as 1400W per square meter. All living things in the world survive on the existence of this energy. Plants utilize solar energy to sustain their life and produce food (photosynthesis). We use this energy as thermal energy or electrical energy.
Solar energy has many advantages compared to other forms of energy:
a) It is an inexhaustible source of energy.
b) It is clean and does not pollute the environment.
c) It is not affected by economic uncertainties that may arise for political reasons, as is the case with fuel energy.
d) It is suitable for regional uses. There is no problem of transportation of energy.
e) Can be used everywhere.
f) Complex systems are not needed for its storage.
g) The costs required for its operation are lower than for other energy systems.
Solar Energy in the World and in Our Country
Renewable energy, which reduces foreign dependency by meeting the energy needs of countries with local resources, has an important place among energy sources with its advantages such as sustainability and minimizing the damage to the environment. Today, approximately 20% of the energy resources used in the world are provided from renewable energy sources. In fact, despite the high level of fossil fuel use, it is seen that the use of renewable energy has a rising trend.
In recent years, Turkey has also experienced significant developments in the field of renewable energy. At the end of 2016, the country's renewable energy capacity was approximately 35GW, which corresponds to 35% of its overall electricity consumption.
